Kimco Developers pursues the development of quality open-air retail shopping centers with national credit tenants, both on our own and through joint ventures with quality developers. Development opportunities are vigorously pursued on a national basis. The company locates development opportunities from various sources. The sources include tenant referral, developers, brokers, and other real estate industry contacts. Tenant referrals has been a very effective method to obtain sites as tenants may locate a parcel too large for them and we will acquire the balance, or a tenant may identify a market and we will assist in locating a site. Furthermore, we continually receive packages on available land throughout the country due to the strong name recognition of Kimco Realty Corporation.
