Many communities get excited when a new grocer comes into the area. But one of the newest additions to our portfolio raised more excitement than some.

Opening day at the new Whole Foods Market in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania was packed with hungry shoppers who were eager to check out the new store. Lucky for them, there’s plenty of food on the shelves and spots inside the store to satisfy any grumbling stomach.

Besides the standard products, this 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market has it all: a scratch bakery serving fresh bread and baked goods; a flower shop where you can buy custom floral arrangements; the freshest seafood and meats at the butcher and seafood counter; fine domestic and imported cheeses selected by the Certified Cheese Professional; lunch ready to eat at the prepared food counter; all of your personal beauty needs at the specialty Whole Body area; and aisles of craft and imported beers.

But there’s more.

Inside is Whole Foods Market’s restaurant concept, dubbed Table + Tavern. The diverse menu is colorful, playful, and enticing: the salads are dressed up, pastas remind us of Grandma’s Sunday dinner, sandwiches are the right kind of comforting, and the entrees stick to our bones. Thirsty? Table + Tavern also serves up cocktails, draft beer, and wine by the glass.

But if you can’t get a table in the restaurant, you can still find a delicious meal right around the next aisle. This Whole Foods Market has a juice and coffee bar, a made-to-order Ramen station, and specialty wood-fired pizzas.

In other words, it’s hard to go hungry at this new Whole Foods Market.

The store opened in September to much fanfare, and it’s a welcomed upgrade above another Whole Foods Market that was located just across the way. That tiny and cramped store had inadequate parking and couldn’t stock all the goods Whole Foods Market wanted to provide. When we purchased the spot to develop this new Whole Foods Market, we strived to alleviate those problems with a surface lot plus an underground parking garage, and a spacious store footprint. At the same time, we developed an adjacent, small retail building which includes a Starbucks, First Watch, Potbelly, and Republic Bank.

Here’s what some local shoppers are saying about Wynnewood’s new Whole Foods Market:

“My husband was there bright and early this morning! Actually came in from the parking garage, before the crowds at front door! Loved the new digs and we enjoyed broiled lobster tail, fresh baguette, and roasted asparagus for dinner tonight! But he did not buy cupcakes!!! How could he pass those by!?!” -- Theresa McCullough Pyne

“We are so spoiled to have access to such a wonderful variety of fabulous foods. It was truly an amazing experience meandering through the aisles being offered delicious samples of scrumptious food! I enjoyed every minute of my shopping trip. How grateful I am to have access to such a wide variety of high quality produce and delicious prepared meals.” -- Jackie Ward

“Beautiful new store! Great work!!” -- Julie 'Gelsinger' Williams

“Nice job on the design and layout of this new store!! Thoughtful, practical, and beautiful. And 24 beers on tap!! Woohoo!!” -- Jane Gast Eger
