Hi, I’m Chris Freeman, Senior Vice President of Property Management for Kimco. I am responsible for the team that manages Kimco’s 900-plus shopping centers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. We handle day-to-day operations at our centers -- everything from tenant relations and services, to managing the overall upkeep and appearance of our properties. Working together using common standards and shared best practices, we’re also responsible for long-term strategic planning, expense management, capital improvements, energy and utility management programs, sustainability initiatives and reporting, vendor management, and operational ancillary income programs.
I joined Kimco in 2001 as a Property Manager, and was promoted to Regional Property Manager and Director of Property Management and Operations before assuming my current position in 2009. Earlier in my career, I held posts with Advanced Facilities Services International, a third-party property management company, and Benderson Development Company, a privately held real estate company.
I live with my wife and two children in North Carolina, and in my spare time I love to ski and mountain bike (I used to manage ski and mountain bike shops in college), and play soccer and tennis. I’m also an avid outdoor photographer.
