Senior Director, Construction
Jose Lopez joined Kimco Realty Corporation in April 2016 and is the Director of Construction for the Central Region. He supports and manages redevelopment, development, entitlement, design, and construction matters within the Central Region, which is comprised of over 116 properties totaling nearly 17 million square feet. Since joining Kimco, he is presently working on redevelopment and construction projects throughout the Central Region. These projects include a multitude of value-add initiatives, ranging from ground-up developments to re-development opportunities.
Prior to joining Kimco, Jose worked at University of Chicago in their Capital Project Delivery department as a Senior Project Manager responsible for managing one of their high profile campus re-development projects. During his four and half years at U of C, he was responsible for the planning, entitlement, permitting, campus communication, design, and construction efforts contributing to the successful re-development of Saieh Hall which was valued in excess of $125 million.
Jose also worked as a Regional Construction Manager responsible for overseeing 22 shopping centers in Northeast Region in its new and re-development projects for General Growth Properties and was a Development Manager for the initial Chicago - Navy Pier Redevelopment project. He earned his BS from the Bradley University and is an active member of the local HACIA and ICSC chapter organizations.
